Erik works with spectroscopic tools for analysis of highly scattering (turbid) materials. This includes, for example, photon time-of-flight spectroscopy for applications in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. In addition, Erik develops sophisticated Monte Carlo methods for simulation of light propagation in turbid materials.

Background

Erik received his MSc in Engineering Physics from Lund University in 2007. His MSc thesis, Enhancing the Performance of Time-Resolved Spectroscopy, was conducted in the Biophotonics group under the supervision of Dr. Tomas Svensson and Prof. Stefan Andersson-Engels.
