Fluorescence diagnostics

Our research on fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging mainly concerns biomedical diagnostics and biological research. We are presently involved in an EU project called BRIGHTER.  In this project we develop novel instruments for in vivo diagnostics based on tissue autofluorescence imaging. Novel excitation lasers are developed.

In another project call NeuroTech (Neuro-engineering for navigation, intervention and implementation in neurosurgery) with Karin Wårdell at Department of Biomedical Engineering at Linköping University as a coordinator, we develop instruments for fluorescence guidance in connection to surgical brain tumour resections. This project is supported by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), the Swedish Research Council (VR) and the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova).

In a third fluorescence based project we develope instruments and techniques for experimental biological studies.
